  • Here’s a fun fact about a group of married men who are in their mid-twenties that get together to talk. There is a 99% chance that the topic of children, whether it’s having them, raising them, etc., will come up.

  • Today, we celebrate our Nation's Birthday, July 4th. Fireworks and BBQs will abound today, so of course, I’m going to write on what to do when you don’t know what to do. What do you do when you have 2 or 3 great options but don’t know what the perfect option is?

  • Over the past few weeks, my toddler son and I have had the opportunity to extend our vacation and visit with my mother who lives in Southern California.  As I prepare for the voyage back to Charlotte, I’ve taken some moments to reflect on the original hopes I had for this extended visit and the reality of how everything actually went. In this reflecting, I am able to see the Lord gently teaching, reminding, and extending his wonderful grace to me in spite of my blinders.

  • Happy Father’s Day to all the dads and soon-to-be dads! In roughly 6 weeks’ time (if everything goes as planned), my wife and I will be parents to a little baby boy. As such, it is very fitting that I write a blog post right around Father’s Day.

    In today’s world, we don’t want to miss out on what’s happening, and it’s easy to want to share all the fun we’re having. Sometimes we look at what other people are doing or posting and may ask, “Why isn’t my life as cool as theirs?” We wake up every day hoping someone will text us asking, “Want to do something today?” and end up hoping we don’t miss out on something others are enjoying. This is FOMO - the anxiety-ridden, stress-causing acronym otherwise known as the “Fear of Missing Out.”
