Roadmap

  • Chaldeans (wise men) are unable to reveal or interpret King Nebuchadnezzar's dream, saying only the gods can do such a thing. In the King's rage, he ordered all wise men of Bablyon to be killed.
  • Daniel and his friends are a few of those ordered to be killed, when the King's men come to seize them, Daniel replies with prudence and discretion that he can interpret the dream to the King.
  • Daniel has these 5 responses to adversity:
  1. Daniel has patient wisdom (vs. 15-16)
  2. Daniel goes to spiritual friendships (v. 17)
  3. Daniel practices God-centered prayer (v. 18)
  4. Daniel rests and receives from God (v. 19)
  5. Daniel worships and affirms the character of God (vs. 20-23)
  • With God, Daniel is able to interpret the King's dream. The King remarking, "Truly, your God is God of gods and Lord of kings, and a reveler of mysteries, for you have been able to reveal this mystery." (v. 47)

prayer is important and believing it is essential. Essential means there are things that will not
happen without prayer.” -Newell
